What breed of dog should I get?

I had a standard poodle growing up and they have wonderful dispositions and are very smart, but their maintenance is tons of work. I just got a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and he is the sweetest cutest dog I've ever known. They are definitely lapdogs. They are very friendly and have wonderful dispositions. So I'd go with the Cavoodle for my choice.
