Will my lip piercing get infected?

I've had it pierced for 5 weeks and up untill tonight I've had the origional jewelry in. Tonight the ball fell off and the only other thing I could put it was a cheap-ish belly button loop (its the same gauge) the only place in town that sells lip rings won't be open untill monday, will my piercing survive untill then? D:
